San Carlos de Bariloche International Airport (BRC) is located 13 km from the city center. Participants can reach downtown Bariloche via public bus (Line 72—SUBE card required), official airport taxis/remises available at the arrivals hall, or shared shuttle services. The conference will be held in NH Bariloche Edelweiss Hotel, located in the heart of downtown Bariloche, just two blocks from the iconic Civic Center (Centro Cívico) and steps away from the shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake. It is located within a 5-minute walk of the city’s main restaurants and shops, as well as pick-up points for local excursions and transport links.
Currency and money exchange
The official currency is the Argentine Peso (ARS). While credit and debit cards are widely accepted in hotels and restaurants, we recommend carrying some cash for small purchases, public transport, and taxis. Foreign currency (mostly USD and EUR) can be exchanged for ARS at official exchange bureaus and banks located throughout the city center. Please note that a physical passport is required for these transactions, and banks typically operate only on weekdays during morning hours. Drawing cash from local ATMs is not recommended due to high transactional fees.
Visa regulations
Please be advised that all international participants traveling to Argentina are responsible for checking their specific entry requirements well in advance, as visa regulations vary depending on nationality. While citizens from most countries in the Americas, the European Union, and the United Kingdom typically do not require a visa for short stays, all attendees should verify their official status via the Official Argentina Visa Guide or through their local Argentinian embassy. Please, contact the organizing committee if you require to apply for a visa.
Power outlets
The standard voltage in Argentina is 220V, with a frequency of 50Hz. The country primarily uses Type I power outlets (three flat pins forming a V-shape), although some older venues may still have Type C outlets (two round pins). Travelers from countries using different voltages or plug types are highly recommended to bring a universal adaptor and check if their electronic devices support 220V to avoid damage.
